Gabrielle Diamonds
Sir Gabriel Tolkowsky - better known as "Gabi" - is a master diamond cutter who is recognized as the most respected expert in the diamond world today. A master who was taught by masters, Gabi learned his craft from his illustrious father, Jean Tolkowsky, a pioneer master cutter, and followed in the footsteps of his great uncle, Marcel Tolkowsky, who, in 1919, set the exact parameters for the standard brilliant cut.
During his 40 year career, Gabi has been entrusted with cutting some of the world's most famous diamonds, including the 273.85 carat "Centenary" diamond, the largest colorless, flawless, modern cut diamond, and the "Golden Jubilee", a 545.65 carat fancy yellow-brown diamond, the largest polished diamond in the world today. Gabi has also received worldwide acclaim for his innovative creation of a spectacular line of polished diamonds known as "The Flower Cuts" which solved the problems with difficult shapes and less popular colors of diamonds. Gabi was knighted by the Queen of England for his noble work.
Gabi Tolkowsky has previously been Managing Director and Chairman of Diatrada, N.V., a division of DeBeers, for over 20 years. Since 1985 Gabi has been a worldwide consultant to the DeBeers group. Now Gabi has created the spectacular Gabrielle diamond.
Suberi Brothers introduces the spectacular Gabrielle diamond, named after internationally renowned diamond cutter, Gabi Tolkowsky. This remarkably new design, a brilliant cut, follows the same shape as existing cuts with the traditional 58 facets, but achieves greater brilliance by adding additional facets. The Gabrielle diamond is, in fact, magnificently cut with a total of 105 light-reflecting facets. The Gabrielle diamond is available in cushion, pear, oval, emerald, heart, marquise and square shapes known as carre, in addition to the classic round.
